The Difference Between Speaking and Communicating
In 2015, I was one of 30,000 contestants from 126 countries in the largest speech competition in the world. I became Toastmasters’ District 33, 1st Place Winner, which positioned me as one of the top 100 speakers in the world.
As a Toastmaster award-winning speaker, I’ve discovered the most important part of speaking is listening.
Listening transforms our speaking to communication. It’s no longer one directional, but rather an exchange that evokes a response.
Communication Ignites Change!
As a former radio talk show host, conference workshop speaker, and small group facilitator, I know people are looking for answers and solutions. Unfortunately, earthly wisdom is finite, but heavenly wisdom is boundless.
God can use our words to provoke compelling thoughts, creative ideas and rekindle hope.
I love to speak at workshops, women’s conferences, and podcasts. If you need an “encourager” to inspire a small or large audience please visit my “Contact” page.

It seems whatever Marisa Shadrick does, she excels at it. At our writing seminar and events, she was an excellent speaker — professional, informative, and very inspiring. I highly recommend her!Cindy Martinusen Coloma

Shadrick is poised. She speaks clearly and with enthusiasm. She presents her ideas in a perfectly natural sequence. She uses humor effectively. Her message seems to resonate with her audience. John Przybys
