My first experience with an opt-in form was, “What’s a modal?”
I still can’t pronounce it.
Here’s what I didn’t know–but I was too ashamed to ask.
- What’s a shortcode?
- How many fields should I add?
- Can all forms be used anywhere?
Your email service provider offers a variety of forms, but not all opt-in forms are equal. For this example, we’ll look at Active Campaign.
There are 4 Opt-in Forms to Consider
1. Inline Form
2. Floating Bar
3. Floating Box
4. Modal
So, how do you choose?
First, think “form purpose!”
Is the opt-in form going to
- Attract subscribers with a free offer?
- Webinar Registration?
- Sell a product or service?
Grow Your Email List:
Use an Inline Form. It provides five different integration options, simple embed, full embed, link, WordPress plugin, and a Facebook option. Since you want to share your freebie anywhere and everywhere, a link is a great option.
Webinar Registration:
Leverage your website traffic to promote your free video training. Create a Modal or Floating Box and invite your reader to your upcoming webinar or Livestream. All you need is an email.
Product or Service Offer:
This depends on what you use to create your landing page, but try to keep the number of clicks to a minimum. Too many clicks and they may abandon the process.
